After your 2 year clinical rotation your will need to include a high-end headshot for your residency application Eras upload. Taking this photo now and sharing will help brand you starting today while giving you a better chance to land the best city to start your career and life.

In medical education, a clerkship, or rotation, refers to the practice of medicine by medical students (M.D.D.O.D.P.M) during their final year(s) of study.[2] Traditionally, the first half of medical school trains students in the classroom setting, and the second half takes place in a teaching hospital. Clerkships give students experience in all parts of the hospital setting, including the operating roomemergency department, and various other departments that allow learning by viewing and doing.

Students are required to undergo a pre-clerkship course, which include introduction to clinical medicine, clinical skills, and clinical reasoning.[3] A performance assessment such as the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) is conducted at the end of this period.[3] During the clerkship training, students are required to rotate through different medical specialties and treat patients under the supervision of physicians. Students elicit patient histories, complete physical examinations, write progress notes, and assist in surgeries and medical procedures. They are also actively involved in the diagnoses and treatment of patients under the supervision of a resident or faculty.[2]

Students undergoing two-year clerkships spend their first year in patient care environment in month-long rotations with limited patient workloads.[4] In their final year, when they are sometimes referred to as externs, they are given more patient care responsibilities in a variety or elective rotations.

The work hours are that of a full-time job, generally similar to that of residents. Students may also be required to work on weekends and to be on call. For medical studentsclerkshipsoccur after the basic science curriculum, and are supervised by medical specialists at a teaching hospital or medical school. Typically, certain clerkships are required to obtain the Doctor of Medicine degree or the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree in the United States (e.g., internal medicinesurgerypediatrics), while others are elective (e.g., dermatologypathology, and neurology).

The intent of the clinical clerkship is to teach the medical student the fundamentals of clinical examination, evaluation, and care provision, and to enable the student to select the course of further study. Another purpose of the clerkship is for the student to determine if they really want to pursue a career in the field of medicine.[5] During the clinical clerkship, the medical student will interact with real patients much as a physician does, but their evaluation and recommendations will be reviewed and approved by more senior physicians. The expectation is that the students will not only master the knowledge in successfully treating patients but they are also expected to assume the physician's role.[6]

United States

In the United States, medical school typically lasts four years. Medical students spend the first part of this third and fourth years rotating through a combination of required clerkship and electives. Most medical schools require rotations in internal medicinesurgerypediatricspsychiatryobstetrics and gynecologyfamily medicineradiology, and neurology. Some schools additionally require emergency medicine and intensive-care medicine. Furthermore, a common graduation requirement is to complete a sub-internship in a specialty, where the medical student acts as an intern.

I came to Nick to do my ERAS/Residency headshot and I couldn't have been more pleased! He was very professional and kind throughout the entire shoot. He stops in between multiple times to let you see the pictures and will help you to pick the best headshots for your needs. I was sent the photos from the shoot within 1 hour of leaving (actually on my drive home). His prices are very reasonable and I recommend him for anyone that needs headshots done.

I was late to my appointment with Nick but fortunately he was still able to accommodate me kindly. I came in for an ERAS medical residency picture and he guided me with great detail (I don’t know anything about headshots so I appreciated it). He’s very professional and I could tell he puts in a lot of work to create a good business too. I’d recommend him to everyone!

Nick was amazing! He explained what was going to take place and executed the shoot. I needed professional head shots for my residency application and I was able to review them before leaving the studio and with the next hour my photos were available. He takes plenty of photos from different angles so you’re able to choose the one to your liking.

I was having my ERAS picture taken for medical residency. Nick was excellent! He was very thorough in the beginning and explained out each of the shots would work. He stopped multiple times throughout the shoot to let me look and decide what I liked and didn't like. I did not feel rushed for time at all and the pictures looked great! I highly recommend! Nick is amazing! I really did not like the previous headshot that I did and found Studio Redleaf after searching for a photographer that could do medical residency headshots. Being a broke med student, I really did not want to pay $300+, but Nick charges $125 for ERAS/VSAS photos. He is truly a professional. I never once felt rushed and he allowed me to take my time and fix my hair/makeup right before the shoot. What I liked most is how detail-oriented he is - from fixing my necklace to my shirt to even the tiny little stray hairs that were popping out. We tested around with different angles and different smiles and every so often, he'd let me look at the photos and choose which ones I liked and we tried to do a few more of those exact ones. In the end, I walked out with 70 photos to choose from, and he even asked me if I wanted to take more. He was super receptive to what I wanted, enthusiastic, and professional. He sends the photos within an hour, but if you check in on FB, he'll send you the pics within 10 min. I'm so happy with my new headshot and glad I came to studio redleaf!

I went to Studio Redleaf for my graduation and residency head shots. Overall, it was a wonderful experience! Nick is very professional, thorough and patient.  He made sure I parked in the proper location to avoid getting towed.  Nick guides you every step of the way never doubting whether you missed any angles. I felt natural being in front of a camera again.

He ensures comfort and relaxation by letting you play a playlist on Alexa. Nick is also very fast.  My photos were waiting for me in my inbox when I got home.  He is affordable, reliable and provides a fun environment.  I raved about his work to my colleagues seeking head shots for their applications to the upcoming Match season. I highly recommend Studio Redleaf for any occasion.

HIGHLY recommend Nick at Studio Redleaf, he is a superb photographer with over 15 years experience who knows his profession well. He took wonderful professional photos that show my best side. He takes his time for light and clothing adjustments so you look perfect. Very easy to work with and absolutely worth it! I had the residency headshot package which is exactly what I needed, multiple photos with different angles and facial expressions, plus extras for the future. He even does touch ups on your favorite one. I was blew away with the great, fast service and quality of my photos. Pay a little extra than JC Penny or Walmart photo and LOVE your headshot!!

Just had a photo shoot with Nick! It was a great experience!

I ordered a medical residency headshot for $125 and more than happy with the results. My goal was to get a nice professional headshots as soon as possible for a nice price. I saw a lot of offers from other studios for $30 or $40 but after that I found that it is only for 1 retouched image. Nick sent me all photos in 20 minutes after the shooting. He also offering retouching of any image you want for $25.

During the shooting he was very friendly, professional and I did not feel any anxiety.

Pros: Great and fairly price service, quick response, great variety of welcome drinks (sodas, coffee), free parking.

Cons: Was a bit difficult to find parking entrance due to wrong GPS location, but they were provided precise explanations with google maps links.
